I couldn't resist, and listened to some of Wei𝛃es Papier. Some beautiful writing here. Bits are reminiscent of French chansons, complete with accordian. Interesting.
Well, I'm glad you were able to push through and still write for us. I now have a backlog of stuff you have brought to us, but as it happens, I'm a little familiar with Wolf Biermann, originally through his stepdaughter Nina Hagen. She probably merits an entire genre unto herself! As I've mentioned in another post, part of the challenge you face is that some genres are incredibly small and specific, and others are huge and diverse. Where does one draw the line? Postwar German music is so huge and diverse--Krautrock, for example, has no consensus definition (were you going to do one on Krautrock, or split it up into subgenres?) Is there a genre for a group like Einsturzende Neubauten? In the 80's they were huge in the dance clubs but were far more transgressive than the usual New Wave band. Oh, I could get sucked into this rabbit hole...
